My Promise to You and Your Dog
I will never guarantee behaviour change. Guarantees like that are a sales gimmick, and they are unfair to your dog.
Instead, I promise to understand your dog as an individual, to advocate for their physical and emotional wellbeing, and to help you understand what they are trying to tell you. I promise training advice grounded in kindness, ethics and science, never fear or punishment. I promise to strengthen the bond between you and your dog, never to damage it. And I promise to meet you and your family exactly where you are, without judgement, with compassion, and with a plan tailored to your life.

"Ash is an educator and a mentor for people who want to better understand and support their dogs. She taught me how to go beyond just understanding my dog, and how to form a relationship with my dog by understanding her body language and the other cues available, to understand her needs. Ash helped me to understand how I could meet Ivy-Mae where she is at on any given day, kindly, while still giving myself grace. How I could stop forcing my dog to be perfect and fit what I wanted her to do, and start meeting her where she is at, which I think improved our bond a lot. She helped me learn how to see what Ivy-Mae needed from me, and not just what I needed from her. Sometimes what you expect of your dog and their needs doesn't fit what you imagined, and that's okay. Ash taught me to be flexible and that leading with curiosity and kindness is key."

"We met Ashleigh at puppy school when Hugo was just a tiny fluffball with absolutely no idea how the world worked. He grew into a confident, well-mannered, happy dog -- and so much of that is thanks to her. We worked together for 5+ years, once the training was embedded, it became about weekly enrichment. Ashleigh's positive, thoughtful approach, her consistency, and the way she genuinely sees each dog as an individual made every session feel supportive and tailored. She communicated clearly, cared deeply, and always centred Hugo's wellbeing in everything she did. The only reason we ever stopped working with Ashleigh was because we moved interstate. Even then, over the years, whenever we've reached out for advice, she has been generous, grounded, and incredibly helpful -- always offering guidance that is Hugo-centred and practical. She's been such an important part of Hugo's life and ours, and we're so grateful for the foundation she helped build."

"Ashleigh is a warm, genuine person and a great trainer. She has been part of our dogs' care team for 6 years, and Pedro and Dora look forward to their training sessions every week. Honest, trustworthy and mindful of how our dogs' needs have changed over time, Ashleigh always meets them where they are at and communicates openly with us about concerns and/or observations. She has supported Pedro and Dora with anxiety, reactivity and body work, not to mention the small matter of adjusting to having two human siblings join our pack. Pedro and Dora are anxious dogs but they are completely at ease with Ashleigh. We will always be grateful to have Ash on our team and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and empathetic trainer."
